Lolly Shera: Fall City, Washington, United States; I'm an oil painter, trained in classical drawing and painting techniques. Studying nature is my passion. I work from life, creating imitative studies that become incorporated in representational paintings of the landscape. I live outside Seattle in the country, in Fall City, WA. You can see a picture of my treehouse studio in the book, Treehouses of the World, by Pete Nelson. When I'm working, and it's windy outside, I feel like I'm in a boat, moored at the dock, rocking gently in the waves. For this blog I'd like to share my process of creating drawings and oil paintings. One of the things I like to study is how the Old Masters and Contemporary artists made their paintings. I am a teacher by training and a life-long student of art. I look forward to sharing my journey of making art with you!
